Anti-GPRC6A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein G protein-coupled receptor class C group 6 member A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 926 amino acid residues and a mass of 104.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the G-protein coupled receptor 3 protein family, GPRC6A is a known receptor activated by amino acids with a preference for basic amino acids such as L-Lys, L-Arg and L-ornithine but also by small and polar amino acids. Synonyms for this target antigen include G protein-coupled receptor, family C, group 6, member A, G-protein coupled receptor GPCR33, predicted with SOSUI analysis, and G-protein coupled receptor family C group 6 member A. GPRC6A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some GPRC6A antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
