Anti-Fc receptor like 2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the FCRL2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 508 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 5 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the secondary lymphoid organs, spleen and lymph node. It is believed to have an regulatory role in normal and neoplastic B cell development. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation and phosphorylation. Other names for this target antigen include IFGP family protein 4, SH2 domain containing phosphatase anchor protein 1, fc receptor homolog 2, immune receptor translocation-associated protein 4, and Fc receptor-like protein 2.
