Anti-ELL3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein elongation factor for RNA polymerase II 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 397 amino acid residues and a mass of 45.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to have testis-specific expression. A member of the ELL/occludin protein family, ELL3 is known to be involved with the apoptotic pathway. Synonyms for this target antigen include RNA polymerase II elongation factor ELL3 and elongation factor RNA polymerase II-like 3. ELL3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species. Western Blot and Immunofluorescence are common applications for ELL3 antibodies.
