Anti-crystallin gamma S antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CRYGS gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 178 amino acid residues and a mass of 21 kDa. A member of the Beta/gamma-crystallin protein family, it is known to be involved with eye development. Other names for this target antigen include CTRCT20, gamma-crystallin S, beta-crystallin S, crystallin, gamma 8, and CRYG8.
