Anti-PLPP6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phospholipid phosphatase 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 295 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and ER. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the PA-phosphatase related phosphoesterase protein family, PLPP6 is known to be involved with cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis and innate immune responses. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include PPAP2 domain-containing protein 2, lipid phosphatase-related protein-B, phosphatidic acid phosphatase type 2 domain containing 2, and polyisoprenoid diphosphate/phosphate phosphohydrolase PLPP6. PLPP6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chimpanzee species. Western Blot is the most common application for the PLPP6 antibodies listed below. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
