Anti-SLC38A8 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 38 member 8. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 435 amino acid residues and a mass of 46.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is reported to be expressed in fetal and adult brain, and spinal cord. A member of the Amino acid/polyamine transporter 2 protein family, SLC38A8 is believed to be a sodium-dependent amino acid/proton antiporter. The SLC38A8 gene has been associated with the disease, Foveal hypoplasia. Synonyms for this target antigen include putative sodium-coupled neutral amino acid transporter 8. SLC38A8 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. These SLC38A8 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
