Anti-MIGA2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitoguardin 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 593 amino acid residues and a mass of 65.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Mitoguardin protein family, MIGA2 is a reported regulator of mitochondrial fusion: acts by forming homo- and heterodimers at the mitochondrial outer membrane and facilitating the formation of PLD6/MitoPLD dimers. Synonyms for this target antigen include family with sequence similarity 73, member B and protein FAM73B. MIGA2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the MIGA2 antibodies listed below.
