Anti-polymerase (DNA) mu antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the polymerase (DNA) mu antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the POLM gene, which encodes DNA polymerase mu. This protein is known to be a gap-filling polymerase involved in repair of DNA double-strand breaks by non-homologous end joining (NHEJ). The human version of polymerase (DNA) mu has a canonical amino acid length of 494 residues and a protein mass of 54.8 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells. polymerase (DNA) mu is a member of the DNA polymerase type-X protein family. Indicated applications for polymerase (DNA) mu antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
