Anti-MFAP3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein microfibril associated protein 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 362 amino acid residues and a mass of 40.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. MFAP3 is a known component of the elastin-associated microfibrils. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include microfibril-associated glycoprotein 3 and microfibrillar associated protein 3. MFAP3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the MFAP3 antibodies listed below. Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
