Anti-SLC6A16 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 6 member 16. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 736 amino acid residues and a mass of 82.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in peripheral tissues, particularly in testis, pancreas, and prostate. It is a member of the Sodium:neurotransmitter symporter (SNF) (TC 2.A.22) protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include NTT5, orphan sodium- and chloride-dependent neurotransmitter transporter NTT5, CTC-301O7.4, solute carrier family 6 (neurotransmitter transporter), member 16, and NT5. SLC6A16 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some SLC6A16 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
