Anti-Serpin family E member 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene SERPINE2 in humans. The gene may also be known as Glia-derived nexin, GDN, GDNPF, PI-7, PI7, glial-derived neurite promoting factor, and peptidase inhibitor 7. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 44 kilodaltons in mass. The SERPINE2 marker can be used to identify Descending Vasa Recta Endothelial Cells, Afferent Arteriole Endothelial Cells, and Efferent Arteriole Endothelial Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
