Anti-CDHR1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cadherin related family member 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 859 amino acid residues and a mass of 93.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the skin, retina, rectum, and colon. CDHR1 is known to be involved with cell adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including protein cleavage and glycosylation. The CDHR1 gene has been associated with the disease, Cone-rod dystrophy. Synonyms for this target antigen include photoreceptor cadherin, protocadherin-21, and MT-protocadherin. CDHR1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some CDHR1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
