Anti-PLPP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phospholipid phosphatase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 284 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be widely expressed with highest expression found in prostate. A member of the PA-phosphatase related phosphoesterase protein family, PLPP1 is known to be involved with the regulation of cell proliferation and the metabolism of lipids. Synonyms for this target antigen include LPP1, PAP-2a, PAP2, PPAP2A, lipid phosphate phosphohydrolase 1a, and LLP1a. PLPP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PLPP1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
