Anti-NPHS1 nephrin antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target NPHS1 nephrin is a known alias name of the protein NPHS1 adhesion molecule, nephrin, encoded by the NPHS1 gene in humans. This 1241-amino acid residue protein is believed to play a role in the development or function of the kidney glomerular filtration barrier. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features phosphorylated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in podocytes of kidney glomeruli. Other synonyms for NPHS1 nephrin include CNF, NPHN, and nephrin. Some NPHS1 nephrin antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
