Anti-TRPM6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 2022 amino acid residues and a mass of 231.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 7 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the kidney and colon. A member of the Alpha-type protein kinase protein family, TRPM6 is known to be an important ion channel and serine/threonine-protein kinase. The TRPM6 marker can be used to identify Brain Vascular Non-Neuronal Cells, Distal Convoluted Tubule Cells, and Type Distal Convoluted Tubule Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include channel kinase 2 and melastatin-related TRP cation channel 6. TRPM6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species.
