Anti-RASSF6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein Ras association domain family member 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 369 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.4 kDa. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in thymus, kidney and placenta. RASSF6 is reported to be involved in induction of apoptosis, through both caspase-dependent and caspase-independent pathways.
The RASSF6 marker can be used to identify Type 4 Medullary Thymic Epithelial Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include Ras association (RalGDS/AF-6) domain family 6, Ras association (RalGDS/AF-6) domain family member 6, putative RAS binding protein, and ras association domain-containing protein 6. RASSF6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of RASSF6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
