Anti-GRHL3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein grainyhead like transcription factor 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 626 amino acid residues and a mass of 70.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the brain, colon, pancreas, placenta and kidney. A member of the Grh/CP2 protein family, GRHL3 is reported to be a transcription factor playing important roles in primary neurulation and in the differentiation of stratified epithelia of both ectodermal and endodermal origin (By similarity). Synonyms for this target antigen include sister of mammalian grainyhead, transcription factor CP2-like 4, transcription factor hSOM1, and grainyhead-like protein 3 homolog. GRHL3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of GRHL3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
