Anti-ZDHHC3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein zinc finger DHHC-type palmitoyltransferase 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 299 amino acid residues and a mass of 34.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be widely expressed with significant expression in the heart, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, testis, thymus, small intestine and leukocyte. A member of the DHHC palmitoyltransferase protein family, ZDHHC3 is reported to be a golgi-localized palmitoyltransferase that catalyzes the addition of palmitate onto various protein substrates. Post-translational modifications have been described, including palmitoylation and phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include DHHC3, GODZ, ZNF373, palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC3, DHHC1 protein, and DHHC-3. ZDHHC3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the ZDHHC3 antibodies listed below. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
