Anti-CATSPER2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cation channel sperm associated 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 530 amino acid residues and a mass of 62 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell projections. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to have testis-specific expression. A member of the Cation channel sperm-associated (TC 1.A.1.19) protein family, CATSPER2 is known to be involved with the transport of ions. The CATSPER2 gene has been associated with the disease, Deafness-infertility syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include cation channel sperm-associated protein 2 and sperm ion channel. CATSPER2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some CATSPER2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
