Anti-glucosidase alpha, acid antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target glucosidase alpha, acid is a known alias name of the protein alpha glucosidase, encoded by the GAA gene in humans. This 952-amino acid residue protein is known to be important for the degradation of glycogen in lysosomes. It is localized to the lysosomes of the cell and features glycosylated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the adrenal gland and breast. Other synonyms for glucosidase alpha, acid include LYAG, lysosomal alpha-glucosidase, and acid maltase. A number of glucosidase alpha, acid antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
