Anti-GJA4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein gap junction protein alpha 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 333 amino acid residues and a mass of 37.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is reported to be expressed in multiple organs and tissues, including heart, uterus, ovary, and blood vessel endothelium. A member of the Connexin protein family, GJA4 is known to be involved with blood vessel development and the transport of ions. The GJA4 marker can be used to identify Prostate Perictyes.* Synonyms for this target antigen include gap junction alpha-4 protein, connexin-37, gap junction protein, alpha 4, 37kDa, and CX37. GJA4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species.
