Anti-EMSY antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein EMSY transcriptional repressor, BRCA2 interacting. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1322 amino acid residues and a mass of 141.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 7 different isoforms for this protein. Among its functions, EMSY is involved with chromatin organization and DNA repair. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation and phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include EMSY, BRCA2 interacting transcriptional repressor, protein EMSY, and BRCA2-interacting transcriptional repressor EMSY.
