Anti-EPC1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein enhancer of polycomb homolog 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 836 amino acid residues and a mass of 93.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Enhancer of polycomb protein family, EPC1 is a known component of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex, a multiprotein complex involved in transcriptional activation of select genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A. EPC1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some EPC1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
