Anti-AHCYL2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein adenosylhomocysteinase like 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 611 amino acid residues and a mass of 66.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Adenosylhomocysteinase protein family, AHCYL2 is believed to regulate the electrogenic sodium/bicarbonate cotransporter SLC4A4 activity and Mg(2+)-sensitivity. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include IRBIT2, adenosylhomocysteinase 3, IP(3)Rs binding protein released with IP(3) 2, S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine hydrolase 3, and ADOHCYASE3. AHCYL2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of AHCYL2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
