Anti-KDM3A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein lysine demethylase 3A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1321 amino acid residues and a mass of 147.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. A member of the JHDM2 histone demethylase protein family, KDM3A is reported to be a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates 'Lys-9' of histone H3, thereby playing a central role in histone code. Synonyms for this target antigen include [histone H3]-dimethyl-L-lysine(9) demethylase 3A, jmjC domain-containing histone demethylation protein 2A, jumonji C domain-containing histone demethylase 2A, and lysine-specific demethylase 3A. KDM3A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
