Anti-PABPC5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein poly(A) binding protein cytoplasmic 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 382 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and cytoplasm. It is reported to be expressed in fetal brain and in a range of adult tissues. PABPC5 is known to bind the poly(A) tail of mRNA. Synonyms for this target antigen include polyadenylate-binding protein 5. PABPC5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some PABPC5 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
