Anti-SCDOS antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SCDOS is a known alias name of the protein stearoyl-CoA desaturase, encoded by the SCD gene in humans. This 359-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a Stearoyl-CoA desaturase that utilizes O(2) and electrons from reduced cytochrome b5 to introduce the first double bond into saturated fatty acyl-CoA substrates. It is localized to the ER of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in fetal liver, lung and brain. Other synonyms for SCDOS include FADS5, MSTP008, and SCD1. Western Blot is the most common application for the SCDOS antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
