Anti-Ron antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Ron is a known alias name of the protein macrophage stimulating 1 receptor, encoded by the MST1R gene in humans. This 1400-amino acid residue protein is a known receptor tyrosine kinase that transduces signals from the extracellular matrix into the cytoplasm by binding to MST1 ligand. It is localized to the membrane of the cell and features glycosylated, ubiquitinated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in colon, skin, lung and bone marrow. Other synonyms for Ron include CD136, CDw136, and NPCA3. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for Ron antibodies.
