Anti-HP1 gamma antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HP1 gamma antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CBX3 gene, which encodes chromobox 3. This protein is known to function in chromatin organization and chromatin remodeling, among other biological roles. The human version of HP1 gamma has a canonical amino acid length of 183 residues and a protein mass of 20.8 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include HECH and HP1-GAMMA. Some HP1 gamma antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
