Anti-TMEM176B antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane protein 176B. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 270 amino acid residues and a mass of 29.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the lung and dermal fibroblasts. A member of the TMEM176 protein family, TMEM176B is believed to play a role in the process of maturation of dendritic cells. Synonyms for this target antigen include MS4B2, LR8-like protein, and LR8. TMEM176B gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species.
