Anti-C15orf23 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target C15orf23 is a known alias name of the protein kinetochore localized astrin (SPAG5) binding protein, encoded by the KNSTRN gene in humans. This 316-amino acid residue protein is an important component of the mitotic spindle required for faithful chromosome segregation and progression into anaphase. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be widely expressed including in skin.
