Anti-CD3 antibodies are directed against the target antigen known as cell surface protein complex CD3, or cluster of differentiation 3. In humans, the complex is composed of the three subunit genes, delta, epsilon and gamma (CD3D, CD3E, CD3G). CD3 is a co-receptor and associates with the T-cell receptor (TCR) during T-cell activation.
