Anti-c-erbB-3 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the c-erbB-3 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ERBB3 gene, which encodes erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 3. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and cardiac tissue development, among other biological roles. The human version of c-erbB-3 has a canonical amino acid length of 1342 residues and a protein mass of 148.1 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and is secreted of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include FERLK, HER3, and LCCS2. Western Blot is the most common application for the c-erbB-3 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
