Anti-Glycoprotein nmb antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene GPNMB in humans. The gene may also be known as DCHIL, Osteoactivin, Glycoprotein (transmembrane) nmb, HGFIN, transmembrane glycoprotein NMB, and PLCA3. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 63.9 kilodaltons in mass. The GPNMB marker can be used to identify Choroid Plexus Non-Neuronal Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
