Anti-ERVWE1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The ERVWE1 antigen is another term for the human protein endogenous retrovirus group W member 1, envelope, encoded by the ERVW-1 gene. The protein is known to function in the morphogenesis of anatomical structure, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 538 residues and a mass of 59.9 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and it is noted to be expressed at higher level in the placental syncytiotrophoblast. The ERVWE1 protein is a member of the Gamma type-C retroviral envelope protein family. Other alias names for ERVWE1 include ENV, ENV, and ENVW.
