Anti-alpha Tubulin antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target alpha Tubulin is a known alias name of the protein tubulin alpha 1b, encoded by the TUBA1B gene in humans. This 451-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell division and cytoskeleton organization, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features acetylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for alpha Tubulin include K-ALPHA-1, tubulin alpha-1B chain, and alpha tubulin.
