Anti-ARPIN antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein actin related protein 2/3 complex inhibitor. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 226 amino acid residues and a mass of 24.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell projections. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Arpin protein family, ARPIN is reported to regulate actin polymerization by inhibiting the actin-nucleating activity of the Arp2/3 complex; the function is competitive with nucleation promoting factors. Synonyms for this target antigen include UPF0552 protein C15orf38 and arp2/3 inhibition protein. ARPIN gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chimpanzee species. Western Blot is the most common application for the ARPIN antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
