Anti-MGAT4D antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein MGAT4 family member D. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 374 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER and Golgi. It is notably expressed in the testis. A member of the Glycosyltransferase 54 protein family, MGAT4D is believed to play a role in male spermatogenesis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include GlcNAcT-I Inhibitory Protein, N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase MGAT1 inhibitory protein, glycosyltransferase 54 domain containing 1, and alpha-1,3-mannosyl-glycoprotein 4-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase-like protein MGAT4D. MGAT4D gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the MGAT4D antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
