Anti-Zinc finger CCCH-type containing 12A antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene ZC3H12A in humans. The gene may also be known as MCPIP, MCPIP1, Reg1, MCPIP-1, endoribonuclease ZC3H12A, and MCP-1 treatment-induced protein. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 65.7 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
