Anti-Cyclin I antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CCNI gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 377 amino acid residues and a mass of 42.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in adult heart, brain and skeletal muscle. A member of the Cyclin protein family, it is known to be involved with spermatogenesis. Other names for this target antigen include CYC1, CYI, cyclin ITI, and CCNI1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the Cyclin I antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
