Anti-STEEP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein STING1 ER exit protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 222 amino acid residues and a mass of 25.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the STEEP1 protein family, STEEP1 is known to be involved with Golgi transport. The STEEP1 gene has been associated with the disease, Intellectual developmental disorder. Synonyms for this target antigen include STING ER exit protein and UPF0428 protein CXorf56. STEEP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
