Anti-Carbonic Anhydrase II antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Carbonic Anhydrase II antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CA2 gene, which encodes carbonic anhydrase 2. This protein is known to catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. The human version of Carbonic Anhydrase II has a canonical amino acid length of 260 residues and a protein mass of 29.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix and caudate. Other names for this target antigen include CA-II, CA-II, and CAC. Western Blot is the most common application for the Carbonic Anhydrase II antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
