Anti-Aggrecanase-2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Aggrecanase-2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ADAMTS5 gene, which encodes ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 5. This protein is known to function in extracellular matrix organization and proteolysis, among other biological roles. The human version of Aggrecanase-2 has a canonical amino acid length of 930 residues and a protein mass of 101.7 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the extracellular matrix and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bronchus and fallopian tube. Other names for this target antigen include ADAM-TS 11, ADAMTS-11, and ADAMTS11. Western Blot is the most common application for the Aggrecanase-2 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
