Anti-RPS18 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ribosomal protein S18. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 152 amino acid residues and a mass of 17.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Universal ribosomal protein uS13 protein family, RPS18 is a known component of the small ribosomal subunit. Synonyms for this target antigen include HKE3, KE-3, KE3, S18, uS13, 40S ribosomal protein S18, rhabdomyosarcoma antigen MU-RMS-40.21, and D6S218E. RPS18 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chimpanzee species. A number of RPS18 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
