Anti-Med26 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mediator complex subunit 26. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 600 amino acid residues and a mass of 65.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of a the Mediator complex subunit 26 protein family, MED26 is a known component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes. Synonyms for this target antigen include CRSP70, mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 26, ARC70, CRSP complex subunit 7, and CRSP7.
