Anti-Dynactin 4 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Dynactin 4 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the DCTN5 gene, which encodes dynactin subunit 5. This protein is known to be a part of the dynactin complex that activates the molecular motor dynein for ultra-processive transport along microtubules. The human version of Dynactin 4 has a canonical amino acid length of 182 residues and a protein mass of 20.1 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include dynactin 5 (p25) and dynactin subunit p25. Some Dynactin 4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
