Anti-Alcohol Dehydrogenase 2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Alcohol Dehydrogenase 2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ADH4 gene, which encodes alcohol dehydrogenase 4 (class II), pi polypeptide. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of Alcohol Dehydrogenase 2 has a canonical amino acid length of 380 residues and a protein mass of 40.2 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the small intestine, liver, duodenum, and colon. Alcohol Dehydrogenase 2 is a member of the Zinc-containing alcohol dehydrogenase protein family.
