Anti-TIP1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target TIP1 is a known alias name of the protein Tax1 binding protein 3, encoded by the TAX1BP3 gene in humans. This 124-amino acid residue protein is believed to regulate a number of protein-protein interactions by competing for PDZ domain binding sites. It is localized to the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for TIP1 antibodies.
