Anti-MX2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein MX dynamin like GTPase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 715 amino acid residues and a mass of 82.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the Dynamin/Fzo/YdjA protein family, it is known to be involved with innate immune responses. Synonyms for this target antigen include interferon-induced GTP-binding protein Mx2, interferon-regulated resistance GTP-binding protein MXB, myxovirus (influenza virus) resistance 2, myxovirus resistance protein 2, and MXB.
