Anti-SLC29A1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 29 member 1 (Augustine blood group). In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 456 amino acid residues and a mass of 50.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the kidney. A member of the SLC29A/ENT transporter (TC 2.A.57) protein family, SLC29A1 is known to be a bidirectional uniporter involved in the facilitative transport of nucleosides, nucleobases and therapeutic analogs, and contributes to maintaining their cellular homeostasis. Synonyms for this target antigen include ENT1, hENT1, equilibrative nucleoside transporter 1, equilibrative nitrobenzylmercaptopurine riboside (NBMPR)-sensitive nucleoside transporter, and AUG. SLC29A1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of SLC29A1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
